King School

King School Projects is a partnership between the Portland State University Art and Social Practice Program and Portland Public Schools.  As an expansion of this work, the program has established a civic space at King School in Northeast Portland where PSU students are developing their artistic practices in a PK-8 context, creating neighborhood-based art projects, bringing PSU activities directly to Portland Public Schools, and advancing socially engaged art education.  In the spring of 2015, the program worked in partnership to produce the King School Museum of Art.  The museum’s first exhibition featured photos from several Magnum photographers and was curated by Alec Soth.
